Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration

Our Diversity Is Our Strength: Reflect, Connect, Heal

Open to all with hands-on activities for all ages.

The second annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration is co-hosted by Central MA Connections in Faith (CMACIF), Westborough Interfaith Association, Westborough Connects and Westborough Public Schools. The program is designed for all ages and will include activities created for adults and adolescents as well as those for young children and families.

Building on community spirit from last year’s celebration, which drew over 300 people to the event, this year’s theme is “Our Diversity Is Our Strength.” Speaker, Coach and Author Maria Milagros will deliver the keynote address.

Following the keynote, activities designed for various age groups will pick up on the theme for the day.

  • Children and their parents or caregivers will enjoy an engaging, hands-on group activity in the library. Following from there, the youngest attendees will join together in a fun-filled community drum circle led by Drum to the Beat.

  • Adolescents and adults will be invited to participate in facilitated “Conversation Circles,” providing an opportunity for small group discussions with fellow community members around the day’s theme.

Free on-site language interpretation services will be available in Spanish and Portugese. No advance registration is required. Refreshments will be served. The program is grant-funded by the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and by Islamic Relief.

The Westborough Council on Aging will offer free transportation for Westborough seniors. Please contact the Westborough Senior Center at 508-366-3000 by January 13th for more information on bus transportation.
